Every line striping project at Nye Line Striping follows a consistent, professional process from the first call to the final walkthrough. Here's how we approach every job across the Greater Pittsburgh area.
We visit your property, measure the lot, identify any compliance issues, and document existing conditions. Every quote is based on actual measurements — no guesswork.
We work around your operations. Retail and high-traffic properties are often striped overnight or on weekends. We communicate clearly so there are no surprises.
We blow out cracks, clean oil stains, and ensure the surface is clean and dry before any paint is applied. Skipping this step is the most common cause of early striping failure — it's not a step we skip.
We use professional-grade striping machines with precision guides. Every layout is chalked and measured before painting begins. Straight lines, consistent widths, every time.
Once complete, we walk the entire lot to verify coverage, uniformity, and compliance. We review the finished job with you before we leave.
The work goes smoothly when the lot is accessible at the scheduled time. In practice that means vehicles moved out of the areas being striped, dumpsters and equipment relocated, and access available during the scheduled window.
For retail and multi-tenant properties, it helps to notify tenants a few days ahead. The most common cause of a delayed or partial job is a lot that still has cars on it when the crew arrives.
Fresh paint needs time before traffic. Foot traffic is generally fine within about an hour, and vehicle traffic typically after a few hours, with the exact window depending on temperature, humidity, and sun exposure. A shaded lot on a humid day takes noticeably longer than an open lot in full sun.
We mark and barricade fresh work and will tell you the specific window for your project. Driving on paint before it has cured smears the lines and tracks paint across the rest of the lot, which turns a finished job into a repair.
Most commercial properties cannot shut down entirely, and they do not need to. We routinely phase work by section, so one portion of the lot cures while customers and staff use another, then rotate.
Overnight and weekend work is standard for retail, medical, and other properties where daytime closure is not practical. Phasing takes longer overall than striping an empty lot in one pass, and that is planned into the schedule rather than discovered mid-job.
Striping depends on dry pavement and workable temperatures. When conditions will not produce a durable result, we reschedule. We would rather move a date than hand you lines that fail in six months.
We communicate schedule changes as early as the forecast allows, and weather delays do not change the agreed price.
We walk this with you before we leave rather than emailing a completion notice and moving on.
